Who we are

Uppal Building Supplies Ltd. (“UBS”, “we”) is a building-supplies distributor operating yards in British Columbia and Alberta. This policy explains what information this website collects, why, and what your choices are. Questions about it can go through our contact form or to any of our yards — see Locations.

What we collect

We collect information only when you choose to give it to us:

  • Contact and quote requests — your name, email address, and message, plus phone, company, and a preferred yard if you provide them.
  • Custom flashing drawings — files you attach to a flashing quote request (PDFs or photos). They are stored privately and are visible only to UBS staff.
  • Your store choice — if you pick a yard in the store selector, a small cookie (ubs_store) remembers it for about a year so the site keeps showing that yard’s details. If you never pick one, no choice is stored.
  • Basic usage information — we use cookie-free, aggregate page analytics to understand which pages are visited. It does not identify you or follow you across other sites, and we use no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How we use it

To answer your inquiry, prepare your quote, arrange pickup or delivery, and keep a record of the request. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Where it lives

Submissions and uploaded drawings are stored in this website’s content system, hosted with our infrastructure providers, and quote notifications are delivered to our inbox through an email delivery provider. Access is limited to UBS staff who handle quotes and orders.

How long we keep it

We keep quote requests and their drawings for as long as they are useful as business records for the inquiry they belong to. If you would like something you sent us corrected or deleted, ask and we will do it unless a legal or accounting obligation requires keeping it.

Your rights

Under British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act and Canada’s PIPEDA you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and withdraw consent to our using it. Reach us through the contact form or in writing at any yard. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated date above.
